For the third time in a row, Germany's U20 handball players win the top-class four-country youth tournament at the Airport Trophy in Kloten. They prevail against all three opponents from Spain, Iceland and Switzerland and remain undefeated.

The Icelanders were there for the first time this year. They placed second directly behind Germany and prevailed against Switzerland and Spain with a win.

Coach Matthias Gysin's Swiss U20 squad didn't get any points this weekend, but they did gain a lot of experience and important match practice. The Swiss team held up very well against all opponents and challenged Iceland and Spain until the final minutes. The experience gained now needs to be put into practice in training, as the U20 European Championships in Denmark are due to take place at the end of July.

In 2016, the seventh edition of the Airport Trophy was a complete success. The atmosphere in the well-filled Klotner Ruebisbachhalle was rousing and the games delighted young and old.
